XRP Ledger Updates Bank Features

XRP Ledger is making a second attempt to activate PermissionDelegationV1_1, an upgrade designed to let businesses separate payment and compliance responsibilities across different accounts. The feature entered a 14-day activation period after receiving support from 29 of the network’s 35 trusted validators. If support remains above the required threshold, the upgrade could activate on October 5. A stablecoin issuer, for example, could allow one account to approve customers while a separate operational account handles payments without receiving full control over the main wallet keys. The previous version was rejected after researchers found a flaw that could have allowed attackers to drain XRP through unauthorized transaction fees. The replacement includes a fix that verifies signatures before charging fees. For exchange users, the update shows how XRP Ledger is adapting its infrastructure for institutional payment and compliance requirements. Track XRP rates on xbit.money.
