Tether Launches GEL Stablecoin

Tether announced the launch of GEL₮, a new stablecoin pegged to the Georgian lari. The project is being developed together with the Georgian government and represents one of the first national initiatives focused on blockchain-based currency integration.

According to Reuters, the new asset aims to expand digital payments and strengthen crypto adoption within the country’s financial infrastructure. Analysts believe projects like this could accelerate international crypto transfers and increase interest in non-dollar stablecoins.

For exchange users, the development is increasing activity across USDT, BTC, and ETH trading pairs. Fast crypto swaps remain highly important as stablecoin infrastructure expands globally.

Users can exchange cryptocurrencies quickly through xbit.money.
