Sony Plans USD Stablecoin
Sony Bank has received conditional approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish Connectia Trust, a trust bank that will support the issuance of a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin. Once all regulatory requirements are satisfied, Sony aims to launch the project by 2027. The initiative forms part of the company's long-term digital finance strategy and is expected to strengthen its blockchain-based payment infrastructure. Analysts believe Sony's entry into the stablecoin market demonstrates increasing interest from major global corporations in regulated digital assets and could accelerate mainstream adoption of blockchain payments.
For cryptocurrency users, new regulated stablecoins could expand payment options and improve cross-border transactions. Stay informed about the latest crypto developments and exchange BTC, ETH, USDT, and other digital assets quickly and securely with Xbit.
