Solana Speeds Up Bank Settlements
Solana Foundation has introduced Solana DvP, an open-source tool designed to help financial institutions settle trades involving tokenized assets more efficiently. The technology uses a Delivery-versus-Payment model, allowing the asset and payment to move simultaneously in a single blockchain transaction. If one side cannot complete its part, neither side settles. According to Solana Foundation, the approach can reduce settlement finality from the traditional one or two days to seconds. J.P. Morgan provided input on institutional settlement requirements during the development process. Solana DvP is released under the MIT license and supports SPL Token and Token-2022, including features used by regulated issuers. For xbit.money users, the launch highlights Solana’s growing role as infrastructure for traditional finance and tokenized assets. Track the latest SOL rate and exchange crypto with xbit.money.
