Ondo Simplifies Stock Tokenization
Ondo Finance has introduced a new conversion mechanism that allows approved institutional clients to use shares they already hold to create tokenized securities. Previously, users of Ondo Stocks needed to provide separate cash funding even when they already owned the underlying shares. Through an integration with Alpaca’s Instant Tokenization Network, eligible institutions can now transfer existing equity inventory and receive corresponding tokenized positions directly onchain. The feature is currently available on Ethereum and BNB Chain and also supports converting tokenized assets back into the underlying shares. Ondo says the new process can reduce funding friction, shorten settlement steps and improve liquidity across secondary markets.
