Harmony Moves ONE to Ethereum
Harmony has proposed shutting down its independent Layer 1 blockchain and migrating its native ONE token to Ethereum as an ERC-20 asset. The network, launched in 2019, says rising security risks and the cost of maintaining an independent chain are behind the decision. Under the proposal, a final network snapshot would be used to distribute equivalent ERC-20 ONE tokens on Ethereum. However, not every part of the existing ecosystem can be migrated. Harmony has warned holders to exit assets from multisig safes, liquidity pools and on-chain applications before September 10, 2026. The move highlights Ethereum’s growing role as a settlement layer for projects that can no longer justify maintaining independent infrastructure. For xbit.money users, the migration is important because it may affect ONE liquidity, network availability and future exchange conditions.
