Ethereum Clients Patch Security Flaw
Ethereum clients Teku and Besu have released updates after developers identified a problem involving digital certificates. The issue originated with weak cryptography at a certificate authority, which could allow an attacker under certain conditions to impersonate a service used by a validator. In a worst-case scenario, this could redirect block rewards to an address controlled by the attacker. CoinDesk reported that default Teku nodes on Ethereum mainnet were not affected and that no exploitation had been reported. Operators using the affected setups should install the latest updates and review their software environment. The incident highlights how infrastructure security can affect blockchain participants even when the underlying network continues to operate. Before exchanging ETH on xbit.money, users should also verify the destination address, selected network and transaction details carefully.
